As one of the few female kora players in the world, Sousou's musical journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. She has been personally invited to study the enchanting kora with esteemed masters such as Jali Alagi Mbye in the Gambia, Solo Cissokho in Senegal, and Toumani Diabate in Mali. Her deep passion for the kora led her to embark on a transformative journey at the young age of 19, immersing herself in the rich traditions of kora, singing, and the griot culture.
With four albums released and a touring experience in over 30 countries alongside Maher Cissoko, Sousou's musical prowess has captivated audiences worldwide. She has graced prestigious festivals like the Bali Spirit Festival and the Shanghai World Music Festival, performed at renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center, and even had the honor of performing for Youssou Ndour at the prestigious Polar Music Prize ceremony.
Sousou's mission extends beyond her musical achievements. Her passion is to inspire and empower others through music, yoga, and shared experiences. Growing up surrounded by a room filled with instruments, Sousou's passion for music led her to explore melodies on every instrument she held in her hands. In addition to her primary instrument, her voice, Sousou's love for various instruments has allowed her to master the kora, guitar, piano, recorders, flutes, and dabble in the violin, balalaika, and other instruments that have come her way.

Sousou has a background in classical music with focus on traditional sacral choir repertoire, medieval, renaissance and baroque music. With a heart that beats for pop and soul music, mixed with her big passion for traditional folk music from the nordic countries and West Africa, she weaves songs, stories and music together in an unique way. She is currently working new material for her upcoming solo album and her journey as a composer has just begun.
